Time Goes By Way To Quick

So, here I am and it's been a little over 3 months since my last blog post and since I promised to come on weekly documenting my son's birthday.  Well here I am and "Time Goes By Way To Quick", hence the name of this post.  So much has happened in the last couple months, so I have no clue where to begin.  I will start with some things going on in our family and then go ahead and update Baby L's birthday party!

We have been so busy because we have been dealing with birthday's (My husband, my niece, and my birthday).  Then Baby L, bless his heart, had surgery recently.  We have also been dealing with bouts of sickness going around between Baby L and myself.  All this time though I have been working on his birthday festivities.  As the time gets closer I find that I am getting even more anxious rather than more relaxed.  It seems the closer it gets I realize everything that I still need to do.

I can share some great things that I have gotten, some photos, and all the fun I have been having with planning his first birthday.  I finalized his guest list, although it seems people keep finding their way on his invite list, but this is a once in a lifetime thing for our little guy so we are trying to include everyone that we can.

I think my favorite part about the whole birthday is the invitations.  We actually will be sending out a Cat In The Hat birthday book!  I am so excited about this idea.  I saw this idea on another blog, and just had to have them for our son's birthday!  The invites are not completely done, but the anticipation is killing me, so here it is.

I still have to bind it together but you still can get the general idea of what it will look like.  I have yet to decide completely how I will bind it but I have thought of some ideas like sewing it and then using ribbon to make a spine on the outside.  I also considered just using glue, but my concern with that, is if someone like myself wants to look at it more than once (more like 100 times), I am afraid it will come apart with just glue.  I will be sure to share a final version of the invitation once it is done and I decide how it will be held together.

Another one of my favorites are some of the favors that the kids will be getting, and let's not forget about the adults.  I know typically an adult will not get a favor but the majority of our guest will be adults.  I think total we have 5 children attending and I enjoyed getting their favors together.  Some favors are not in the pictures.

In this first picture is the adult favor, which will be a teapot (which is about 2 inches tall, so you get the size idea) and in the teapot I will be putting "Fish In A Pot", so the adults will have some hard candy fish in their little teapot.  Also in this picture is gumball machines for the kids, in blue and red to match the Dr. Seuss theme.  I really lucked out because about 3 months ago there was this amazing Living Social deal for a site that had party favors and that's where I got both of these favors for the party.

Next, we got all of the kids their own Dr. Seuss book.  This again I got as a great deal (as I have mentioned here I am a couponer), we got these on sale at Target, so I could not pass up the opportunity to give all of our little guest some reading material.

Last picture for today is these Dr. Seuss craft kits each of the kids will get as well.  We had originally planned on having them on the craft table (oh yes, we are having a craft table) but then we figured it's best they do them at home where they can be better supervised and not lose any pieces.  Not to mention the bounce house that will be there, that I have a feeling will keep the kids occupied.  We got the foam books for the boys at the party and the pink magnets for the two little girls that will be there.  I also found a great deal on these items at Michael's as they were having a closeout sale on their Dr. Seuss items.  I love finding things on sale.  Without all the great deals I have found, all of this would not be possible.

Well, I think that is it for now.  I will try and stay more on top of updating our blog.  As anyone who has planned a party knows though it is difficult doing much of anything else and to top it off the time that a 11 month old takes, means I will try my hardest to be on here updating.  I hope to share the banner's I had made with a great deal I got for Vistaprint, and the banners that I am making by hand myself the next time I update.

Thanks to anyone who reads this, and if no one is reading it, I am sure I will enjoy looking back at it and remembering all the time I put into making this day special for not only the birthday boy but for everyone else involved!

Hello World!!!

So, this is my first time posting.  I doubt it will be as interesting as many of my followup post will be.  My main goal of starting this blog is to document life through the eyes of our family.

What prompted me to want to show this to the world is my early planning of my son's 1st birthday.  Yes, his birthday is not for about another 5 months, but I am a planner and I know this will take time.  I highly enjoy planning parties and all the crafts that come along with it.

As of this February I remember it was 2 years ago, it was our Wedding day and I got to see all my hardwork come together at our wedding.  It was such a blessing to see and I find myself sitting down and appreciating all my hardwork in the pictures that captured those moments forever.  That is something that no one can take away.  All the comments I still get on how lovely the whole wedding was, makes me "toot toot" inside everytime (that's my horn, and yes I am tooting it).

With that said, I know I will cherish these moments that I get to create this whimsical world for my son that is over the top at least once a year!  I was so worried that would all be over once the wedding was over.  I will admit I almost wished I could get married every year just so that I could plan the wedding each time.  Of course getting married every year to my husband.

So, here we are, I am on Blogger, in hopes that my blog will attract anyone to read it.  I will not just base the blog around my adorable son's birthday, although I could go on all day about him.  I may cover some awesome recipes my family tries as we love trying new recipes, and there may be a little bit of couponing mixed in there.  I am an avid couponer and it helps my family stay comfortable as I am a Stay at Home Mom and Wife!

My goal as for posting on this blog will be hopefully daily, but at least weekly!  I am hoping to come on tomorrow and share some pictures with info on the items we have already bought for my son's birthday (oh yes we have bought stuff already).  I love the items we have already bought, but there is more to come about that when I share the photos.

Oh, and for blog sake, I will be referring to my husband as Hubs/PB and my son will be Baby L/LB.  There may be other mixtures of names, I suppose it depends on my mood and what name pops in my head at that moment.
